What car is i?

Hi,

I'm writing from Germany. I've the opportunity to buy an old car. Right now I only have two pictures. I cannot drive to the car, because it is about 1000 miles away.

I just want to know what type of car is it?

Maybe some of you know it? I thought it could be a Lincoln or Chrysler?

Not Lincoln or Chrysler. Looks to me to be about a 1938 Volvo panel truck. Here is the passenger car version.

Okay I found it. It is a Volvo PV 801 or 802 taxi.

very pretty!!! I love old volvos -always looked good to me. It looks like a before pic on the left after restoration, before being abandoned in a cargo truck body. the details you can see look solid and complete -good luck!! let us know what happens!!!

I identified it is a post car. Because the streering wheel is on the left side. Until 1967 the cars drove on the left side and with a left driven car, it was easyer to bring the post.

I think it is a really rare modell.

Could be, does not the postal service in Sweden use bright yellow paint?

Correct on the Volvo. Only last month I toured the Volvo Museum in Gottenborg. The tour director advised me that until 1967 the Swedes drove on the left side of the road (as did the UK) but the steering was from the left as well. Messed up the tram systems as the platforms were now on the wrong side.

I recall when Sweden switched. Wasn't there something like a 25 mph national speed limit as everyone got used to driving on the correct side of the road ?
