vetsalsman
The Lincolns have the better styling but the Cadillac's had the stronger engine and better suspension in my humble opinion. I have seen some magazine articles from the early 50's that gave instructions on putting Cadillac OHV V8's in the Lincolns. That being said, a well built and tuned V12 Lincoln engine purring in a Continental or Zephyr is both a sight and a sound that is one of the best ever offered by any mass production manufacturer. Phil Knapp
If we MUST post photos of Brand "X" cars on this V-12 Lincoln forum, here's MY 2 cents!Probably the most beautiful Cadillac (to me) ever produced is the Series 60 Special. I particularly like the 1939-40 models.Beware - Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's Cadillac! Mssr. Bwatoe
I never did the caddy thing, but growing up in the 70's....that Eldo conv was thecoolest thing on the road...I like the "other best cars list" but would change the T Bird to55..and add a 21 window VW Bus!! I regret selling my 64 Rivi the most...and come on..how bout 35 Ford !! I love Lincolns..but very few autos have classier lines than some of those EBF styled cars... CBoz
Phil -- C'mon, you can't be serious! Even Bill Mitchell admitted those '38-40 Cadillacs were trying to copy the Zephyr's grill, and came off looking pinch-nosed
Phil Knapp
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! Look at the window frames in the 1939/40 Mercury coupes and all the Lincoln Continental coupes. Just like the 1938/41 Cadillac Series 60 sedans.Actually, I prefer the "pinched noses" of the 1939/40 Cadillacs to the blunt, square nose of 1941.
