Chandler Timing

Hello all!!

Hope your summer is going well. We are continuing to work with the students on our 1923 Chandler motor rebuild. At our last class we installed the crank and cam into the block and are now trying to figure out how to set the timing chain. There is a dot on the crank pulley and one on the cam pulley as well. There is no mark on the tensioning pulley that we could see. We lined up the dots, but we were not sure if that was correct and we wanted confirmation before we continued.

It appears we will have to make new pulleys for the fan and the one that mounts to the front of the camshaft. They are in very bad shape. Is there replacements that will work on the market? We also will need a new distributor cap.

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Jerry
