Dear Pete:

I checked my 1941 parts book, group 0.269. It gives the part numbers of the casting AFTER it is machined. For 1941, the numbers are 1319221 for a 40-50 series head and 1319342 for a 60-70-90 head. Based on a casting number of 1319408, I think you are looking at a 1941 248 head. It will fit any 248 with a conventional transmission up thru about 1947, although careful inspection of any cylinder head gasket used MUST be done to insure that water passages are open.

Regards, Dave Corbin
