31 Peerless Sport Coupe

I seem to have sparked some interest in my old Peerless so I thought I would add some additional pics which I hope all will enjoy.

At the Aug 8 Concours in Port Hope I was able to see John Knight with his 29 Peerless.Very neat car and in quite good condition. I didn't risk a 3 hr drive on the highway with my 31, so opted to drive a 57 T'Bird instead.

I do try to drive the Peerless at least once a week and have gone to some local shows. It is good to see others get enjoyment when they see our old vehicles on the road.

Our driving season here in southern Ontario is about 6 mos. max so we need to make the best of each week. Fortunately I am retired so every day is a driving day. And in between I need time to clean and maintain the toys.

Hopefully I don't bore you with extra pics but I am sure they are of interest to some.

Enjoy

Spud,

Wonderful photos! I'm glad to see that one of these survived down through the years. Your Sport Coupe looks like it barely has five years of use on it. I would find it hard to believe it wouldn't take 1st at one of those Historical Preservation Original Finish classes at a meet or show. A nice tour-de-force for Peerless would be John Quam's 1920, Devon Horning's 1925, and your 1931...all well-preserved originals. There are photos of the 1925 on the "1925 Peerless 6-72" thread, and one of the 1920 on Bryan Moran's "Peerless Visit Forthcoming" thread.

I'm glad you got to meet John Knight & see his 1929 Peerless. How did you first hear of him? I sent you a couple of letters recently, one with two photos of your car you may not have, and the other with a story on autonet.com about the '29.

----Jeff
