Erndog
Looks like nobody has a gas tank for my 1940 Olds four door sedan. Does anybody out there know of another that will fit??
Graham Man
Take your dimensions over to a stock car/hot rod magazine and pick a fuel cell that is close, it will work till you find or build a replacement. This is one of those questions the Olds guys would be best to ask. Get involved with an Olds club and ask around most likely someone had a new old stock tank sitting in their garage. Found one for my 1933 Graham sedan yours should be easy!Good luck, with old cars, meeting other old car lovers is the most fun!Scott
Erndog
So, are the gas tanks of like models of the same year, i.e. 1940 Olds 4-door sedan and 1940 Buick 4-door sedan, basically the same between different GM makes in the 30's and 40's? Rusty_OToole
Only by coincidence. Usually you can find a tank with the right general size and shape and have a rad shop relocate the filler if necessary.
Guest daveagain909
check out the fuel tanks for the same year chevy It may fit. I do think although that you will have to relocate the filler tank. you should have your original tanks measurements and then compare.......Chevs of the 40s 1940 Chevrolet Car Parts Page
