What is this radio tuner from?

Recommended Posts

I recently came across this old radio tuner. Can anyone tell me what car it's from? Thanks.

The radio control head for the 1935 and 1936 Plymouth was mounted vertically like this one, sliding into the dash in place of the driver's side ash tray. The numbers on the dial were also at a 45 degree angle. (See attached photo.) It may be for a Chrysler product around that time.

My guess is an aftermarket set from the early 50s. The knobs are that style, and the slanted numbers would allow it to be mounted horizontal or vertical.

Didn't know there was a radio available as late as the '50's that utilized this style. But it wouldn't surprise me.
