Guest rickyrhill
I have a 1955 Chrysler Winsor. I rebuilt the master cylinder and booster. After putting it back on I can't get the brake lights to work. Turn signals are OK. I replaced the bulbs. Is there a switch at the pedal? I can't find it.
Bob Kinker
The brake light switch should be a hydraulic operated switch. It will be mounted somewhere off the brake lines. A factory shop manual would really help you with this car. Available from time to time on Ebay.If I'm mistaken about type & location of switch, someone will chime in and correct me. But the factory manual is still a good idea.
R Walling
The switch on my 55 New Yorker is on the master cylinder and just stopped working yesterday. I think that there must be something going around that’s catchy!
Jolly_John
The brake light switch on the '55 Chrysler Windsor screws into the master cylinder, towards the end. You certainly should have seen it, when doing the rebuild. John
Guest De Soto Frank
If your Windsor has the "one-year-only" 1955 Kelsey-Hayes power-brake MC, the switch is on the bottom, towards to the front of the unit. This switch has a 1/8" NPT pipe-thread and one female / one male bullet terminals.
