1964 Riviara This car has a plaque in the center console which says, THIS CAR WAS SPECIALLY BUILT FOR DOROTHY PEDERSEN. The interior is green velvet head liner, doors, seats, was this an option or is this a rare thing for Buick to do.

Do you have any idea where she was from or what dealership the car came from? I just did a search and found that there are several ladies by that name. You might actually be able to find her.

We found the orginal owner of our 1974 Mercedes 450 SL. She still lives in the same house in Arkansas she did when she bought the car new.

A "Made Especially For" plaque was part of the package of instructions - Owners manual, protecto plate, etc. that came in an envelope that was in every Riviera built in those years. It was up to the buyer to have it engraved with his/her name. There are (were) reproductons being sold in the classifieds of the Riview.

The headliner in every '64 Riviera would have been vinyl in the Bedford pattern and would have been color coded to the rest of the interior - not necessily matching, but coordinated. The seat choices were vinyl, or cloth and vinyl (leather was offered only in '63.) Colors were somewhat dependent on whether you got the standard or custom interior (optional.)

Anything that is velvet in your car is something that was done later.
