Door lock removal

Recommended Posts

Dave , there is a small hole in the inner edge of the door at the same level as the the lock cylinder. Insert a small ( 1/16"?) allen wrench thru this hole and into a set screw that retains the lock cylinder and remove the set screw. You can then remove the lock cylinder.

Dave, To save yourself some grief, get some of the best possible penetrating oil--I don't know what that is, I've tried them all I think, soak this little set screw for about two weeks before you attempt to loosen it, other wise it will strip out and the only solution to the problem is to drill it out. That set screw is next to diamond in hardness. I've had the experience on my LC '48. Glenn Lorei b6vt
