PONTIAC1953
hi, my first question is, does your car have a pontiac L6 239 engine, or a chevy ohv6 235 ? my 1954 pontiac master parts catalog shows one clutch listed, but doesn't give a size. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor. Guest Fitz
Hi,thanks for the reply,I just found the size in my Canadian Book and it's 9.5 inch. The 1953 Canadian Pontiac (54 too, the clutch was not for mine) use the flathead 6 239.For example the 39 economic Pontiac (short wheel base) sold here use a ovh valve chevy engine. I think it was in 40 or 41 Canadian Pontiac was built with the flathead power team. The transmission is chevy, the standard or automatic on all model of Canadian Pontiac.here a picture of my car's engine and powerglide.Fitz.
