Luggage Rack for 1930's Zephyrs?

Has anybody ever seen a luggage rack built specifically for a Lincoln Zephyr?

Looks like a custom job, since it's not like one in the '37 accessories manual -- I don't imagine they changed it for '38 or '39? But a nice job, nonetheless.

I saw it Fri afternoon and Sat 4/10/10 at the Charlotte Lowes track LZOC/GOF as well. Gary H. of Ohio aquired the 1937 Saga of the Black Beauty, top notch, every option known available, including the luggage rack. I only got a photo of the front, so not sure if it is exactly the same. (will attempt my first photo attachment, ironically using Phil's helpful instructions from a past posting!) Paul

I don't remember the emblem on the trunk rack of Black Beauty, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong...

Yes this is an original factory rack. It isn't shown in the accessory book. most of the items were artist renderings in the catalog. I know of 2 of these racks. They are hens teeth. They must not have had a great demand for them at the time the car was sold from the factory. Most cars had dealer added that were sold at ford/lincoln/mercury dealers. Very rare item indeed.

One of the attendees of GOF West showed a picture of one that that looks just like Phil's photo. I might be able to track him down if anyone's interested.

Looking at it closer, I'd bet it's '38 or '39 since there is no "V-12" script in the badge, like you'd find in the '37. Pretty cool.
