speedometer removal

Recommended Posts

This is not a fun job. I first remove the radio to gain better access. There are 2 retaining brackets on the side of the speedometer a little difficult to get to as they are right up against the back side of the dash board. You'll have to move the wiring ( carefully) to get to the nuts that retain the brackets ( L shaped). The cable unscrews from the rear of the speedometer and the trip reset cable from the lower lip of the dash. You can then pull the speedometer part way out and disconnect all the lights and remove the speedometer. Patience, good luck.
