Metz Engine Cover

Would anyone be willing to loan an original Metz engine cover for duplication? My hope is to get several of these made, as they are often missing or, as on my Metz, replaced by a crude copy. These sheet-metal covers mount under the engine to help channel air over the block and keep the friction wheels dry. They were used on the Metz 22 and 25 from around 1912 to 1916, I believe.

Phil,

I have the engine cover off of my car now while the radiator is out. Are there any measurements or pictures I can take for you? I wonder if the cover is the same for my 1915 touring car as you 1913??

Let me know,

Bill

I found a metal-shaper who happens to be restoring a 1913 Metz 22. He's agreed to make an engine cover for me. Since he has the original cover to copy, it seems like a good deal versus trying to borrow one or make a drawing. If it turns out well, I'll let others know about it. He says he'd be willing to make additional copies.
