Chipndayle
Could someone help me identify the truck pictured in the two attached photos? The truck is located in Germany and has US military markings. My German friend has asked for help in determining the year and model. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide. All the Best, Chip
rbk
This is a M5 truck.Manufactured between 1941 and 1948.I doubt that this is wartime modelThe serial number found in the drivers door opening will tell what year it was built.Robert Kapteyn

Guest Gary Hearn
From the angle it is hard to tell if it is a M-5 (1/2 ton) or a M-15/M-15A (1 ton). The bumper is not stock as are the small lights at the bottom of the fenders. While the truck may have been bought by the military, it does not have the military C-9 cab on it as there are cardboard door panels and no swing out windshield. In addition to the A post (or left seat riser if a later model), the serial number should also be on the frame behind the left front tire. Guest stude8
From the appearance of the hood it looks like it may have suffered an underhood fire (carburetor?) at one time. Otherwise it looks not badly rusted. How about more photos of the side view and box.Stude8
Guest Gary Hearn
I looks like a Chevy 4x4 next to it, I would like to see pictures of that as well!
