rear caliper suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Getting ready to start some work on my 91 shortly (weather is getting decent enough to work in the driveway now) and will be replacing the rear brakes, including calipers which are original.

Anyone have particular suggestions on a supplier (brand) of calipers that will replace the stock parts? Alternatively, are there better upgrade options that are bolt-on, without the need for mods? I know there was some discussion here a while back on using Camaro brake parts, but there was some substantial work involved in making this setup work if I recall.

Any feedback, especially if there is a brand/supplier to avoid, is appreciated.

Kevin, just read your Thread. I replaced my front and rear calipers with Wagner Thermo Quiet. Very pleased with their rebuild. All I did was paint them with black caliper paint prior to installing.

Rock Auto has great prices and currently has Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads available with a $15.00 per set rebate. You can check but I have found the price plus shipping at Rock Auto to typically be cheaper than the local chains. Super fast shipping.
