Gene - each front mount has two bolts attaching it to the block and one stud on the bottom which extends through the cross member and must be reached from beneath the car. You can remove the engine by removing the two bolts holding the mount to the block or by removing the nut from the stud on the bottom of the cross member. Hopefully I have been clear.

Gene, to save some grief I would install the motor mounts on the engine before you install it. They will be easy to get to and you can install the water pumps while the engine is out. The holes in the cross member that the mount studs go thru are fairly large and should make your installation easier.

thanks for the tip

i will have to find a big socket to fit that

i will give it a go

learned a lot on this one i pulled, like had to turn a socket down on lathe

to get it on the bolts behind fan and make something like a breaker bar to

turn socket

except it is solid. i bought the car out of Austin Texas for the engine and tranny.

my engine had blow by big time.

this engine turned out great, 80 oil pressure even when warmed up.

i am making a distributer to use two modern 6 volt coils.

might get me home. i dont show them i drive them

80 # of oil preasure is a bit much. That kind of preasure might erode your bearings. Check the by pass in the oil pump shaft to see if it is sticking.
