srnad8 10
Hello, motor looks great. If you don't mind a few questions, did you pull it out to paint it? What type of paint did you use on the manifolds? The oil filter housing looks correct, what color is the base and the cover? Thanks, Dan. 1950SuperPDX 10
Hey thanks! No I didn't pull it out. (painted it with a brush!, 3 coats) I used thisENGINE ENAMEL-Hirsch Automotive Products(BUICK TURQUOISE, 1942-52)The oil filter was already painted the correct blue and had the correct decal on it, so I'm 99% sure its original paint. (All I did was paint the lid orange) The cover is just high heat Kylon orange. Looks just fine.

Lockhouse 10
I like this a lot and I hope you don't mind if I use the orange idea too - a very nice touch.
Cubelodyte 11
Wow, this thread got bumped out of nowhere.Since it's here again, I thought I'd add that after having redone my filter housing, I stumbled across a GM Corporate Blue No. 221, by Plasticote, which is a much better match for the original color than the Ford Blue used by others (and me).Now I can't help myself; I gotta sand and paint it all over again.
