New paint on the Straight 8!

Recommended Posts

Got me some Bill Hersch 1950 Buick enamel. 3 coats later and here's what I've got! (I painted the oil bath air cleaner also, thats why its on not) Tomorrow I'm adding the "Buick Fireball" decal. (I'll post the finished product tomorrow also)<br />

Hey thanks! No I didn't pull it out. (painted it with a brush!, 3 coats) I used this

ENGINE ENAMEL-Hirsch Automotive Products

The oil filter was already painted the correct blue and had the correct decal on it, so I'm 99% sure its original paint. (All I did was paint the lid orange) The cover is just high heat Kylon orange. Looks just fine.

Wow, this thread got bumped out of nowhere.

Since it's here again, I thought I'd add that after having redone my filter housing, I stumbled across a GM Corporate Blue No. 221, by Plasticote, which is a much better match for the original color than the Ford Blue used by others (and me).

Now I can't help myself; I gotta sand and paint it all over again.
