Replacing brake light switch on '91

The diagram and instructions in the '91 manual are not right. Probably right for the 88-89 models? How do I remove the old switch so I can replace it with the one I have. I see no clips holding it in place. Does it screw in? There hardly seems room if I remove the two wire bundles and rotate it as another switch is beside it. Perhaps a clip on the back side where the pedal stays engaged? Sure not much working room. Thanks, Labrat

Sir,

I believe the brake switch assembly uses a friction type fit in the housing. The switch body is plastic and the retainer in which the switch fits is ribbed so it holds itself due to friction.

To remove the assembly just pull it out.

I will attach 2 pix of the switch I have.

Regards,

Jack C.
