Internal engine paint?

Recommended Posts

If you're asking about a coating for the inside of an engine (such as an aluminum crankcase, to keep it from soaking up oil), there used to be a product made by Gasoila which was used to coat it. A lot of early aluminum crankcases were porous aluminum, and are full of oil which has been absorbed into those pores. Such items need to be vacuum degreased (particularly if there is welding repair to be made, as the oil will just keep seeping out of the metal as heat is applied), then coated on the inside so that absorption doesn't happen again.

Then again, you could be asking a totally different question. dc
