RivNut
Al et al;That's a picture of my '84 convertible with the T-type wheels. When I got the wheels, they were in pretty bad shape cosmetically. I was able to bring them back to life myself. It took some common automotive cleaning stuff and a lot of elbow grease. The first thing I did was to wash them well with soap and water. I then used a wheel cleaner for raw aluminum to get the dirt out of the pores in the aluminum. When I was satisfied that I had done everything chemically available, I got busy with some 800 grit wet/dry paper on the exposed aluminum. Sanding "with the grain", I was able to get to a nice smooth surface that was fairly bright. After that I went over all the areas I'd sanded with some rubbing compound. That gave the aluminum a good shine. The black parts of the wheels cleaned up good enough that I didn't have to do anything to them. The last thing I did was to spray a clear coat over the entire wheel. After that, clean up was easy with soap and water.I think I still have a center cap, but if I do, there's no emblem on it. I've yet to find a self adhesive center or any other emblem that is that diameter. Ed

Guest TRivownr
The centers for these wheels were discontinued a long time ago. The last set I saw on e-Bay went for several hundred dollars.I had some plastic inserts made for my T-Type. They are not 100% accurate--they are flat and the originals are slightly domed. Plus the "R" is painted silver, instead of chromed. However, it is pretty close and looks a heck of a lot better than the cracked originals. Here is a link to the guy who made the set for me: TR Custom Parts 84-87 Turbo Regals, Olds G-Body Cars, S-10 Blazers/Pickups As I remember, the price was about $40 plus shipping, but, that was several years ago.Phil CooleyROA 744685 Riviera T Type
