Chris Bamford
A friend in Oregon is bringing a 1906 Orient Buckboard back to life after 48 years for the town parade in late August. This is a very original car and the wheels have not been modernized with clincher or rims or the like. (My 1906 Orient was restored in the mid-'50s and has clinchers with old but very serviceable Non-Skid tires). The wooden felloe/rim has a gentle dish/valley in the centre and it appears the tires were forced over the edges and glued into the valley. Can anyone suggest a source, or alternative, for early style single-tube tires — essentially a very thick inner tube with no outer casing? oldiron
Try Coker Tire. About ten years ago, a friend of mine purchased a set through Coker. At the time someone else was making the single tube tires, and selling them through Coker. (Word was, that Coker was also going to buy the molds.).
