Being a Dummie

What's the dumbest thing you've ever done to your car?

I'll start...

The day I bought my '63 Riviera (Summer 1981), I immediately purchased a spray can of "Gunk" engine de-greaser...it took all the shine off anything black in the engine compartment.

It took over 20 years for the shine to come back.

I was taking my front bumper apart to have it plated. The bolts on the ends wouldn't come out so I sat astradle the bumper and drove the bolts out with a hammer and punch. I didn't know the bumper bars and the bar that mounts to the frame were under tension.

I was trying to start a Eldorodo that had been submerged in a lake, so I removed all the spark plugs and stood back on a 45-degree angle so as to not get hit by the water coming out of the spark plug holes as I cranked it over.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Good idea, right? ...............Except the spark plugs are on a 45-degree angle.

Have you ever seen a liter of water come straight at you and hit you in the face? I have!!!
