I replaced the rear brake pads on my '88. The caliper on the drivers side is rattling. All the bolts are tight and the caliper does work. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be??? Thanks

You are experiencing the dreaded "rear brake caliper rattle". No sure fix has been found for the stock calipers that I am aware of. You should check to see if the pads are seated in the caliper correctly. If they are you might consider doing the Aurora caliper upgrade. Instructions can be found on my website.

I do the front brakes and my mechanic friend does the rear ones.

Why?

Because I just don't pay close enough to detail...

If it is not done right it will rattle. [Of course it may also start to rattle again over time].
