installing aftermarket gauges

Recommended Posts

You need "electical" gauges, not "mechanical".
------------------
buickfam@aol.com
Life long Buick Fan.
1965 Skylark H/T
1965 Gran Sport Convertible
1948 Chevy Pickup with 401 Buick.

I always preferred mechanical gauges and have never had trouble running the tube instead of a wire from a sender. Whether you run wire or tube, you should have a rubber grommet where the tube passes through the firewall. As far as quality, you get what you pay for in regards to gauges. I'd look at brands that look correct for 60's era such as Stewart-Warner. Overall, I'd stick with S-W, Autometer, or VDO.
