rofly1
In a tc america newsletter volume 14 #3 page 8 there is an article that states the bulbs recommended in the manuals areincorrect. The manual specifies 2057 for all turn signal bulbs. The newsletter states the turn signal bulbs are 1156 and the parking light bulbs are 67. Is this information accurate? The rear bulbs in the manual specifies 2057 as well. Are the rear bulbs also different? Thanks Roger
Guest LouZ
Roger, I don't know that particular newsletter. ~ But ~ The original bulb numbers (20 series) were for a commercial style bulb that used 2 filiments. These 2 filiments were a "back-up" type. Only one worked at the time, when that burned out the next filiment worked giving the bulb a possible double lifetime. This is standard European Use & Thinking as opposed to our way of doing things. The first bulb number may not be available except at large commercial tupe parts supply houses. The second bulb number is the standard US use that is available at any parts supply. It is the same bulb with the same brightness; no back-up filiment. No Problem.. rofly1
Matthew,Thanks for the link. That cleared up a lot. My question is..are the rear bulbs for the turn and stop lights the same 2057 or the same as the front? Thanks Roger

rofly1
finally have the turn signal on the drivers side working. have even found the turn signal flasher since it was clicking. it was attached right behind the parking brake release. all of the bulbs are working so it must be the flasher. thanks again for your help and advice....roger
rofly1
the guy at napa parts said the turn signal flasher would not just work on one side. he thought it must be something in the wiring. next week i have to take it in to the auto electronics garageroger
