Guest low'n slow
I'm in dire need of a new carrier bearing. Both local driveline places didn't have one. The dealership laughed at me. Struck out at the local Carquest too.Any suggestions? Thanks,Doug
Jim Cannon
I assume this is for a '63-65 Riv. If not, please advise.Bearing can be obtained at NAPA. I found one store in my area that had one on the shelf! I just had to go pick it up. Failing that, order one in and you will have it in a few days.NAPA Item # BRG6908VALBe very careful pressing old bearing out and new bearing into the rubber mount. It is easy to tear the rubber. Mr Riviera
Unless you or someone has changed the rubber support in the recent past I would change that as well . http://www.oldbuickparts.com/
CTX-SLPR
www.classicbuicks.com also has the support and where I got mine when I fragged it in my '70 Riviera. Giving serious consideration to replacing mine when I take the shaft out to get a new front shaft to match the relocated trans.

RivNut
Just for kicks, I called my local NAPA dealer yesterday and gave him the part number. He had one in stock - $65 plus change.
tim63riv
Ed,For the bearing or the support? Thanks,Tim
Jim Cannon
That would be for the bearing. NAPA does not stock the support.
Guest low'n slow
No one stocks the support. After pulling my drive shaft, I discovered it was the support that I needed. After 2 weeks of promises by a local firm that said they could come up with something that would work, I'm back to sending the support off to be rebuilt.
