This one really caught my eye. Raked in the front, louvered, shaved, chrome reversed rims with bullet caps, lake pipes, dummy spots.  Without being able to see a closeup of the interior, I'd bet on Tiajuana Tuck N Roll.  Somewhere there's a sunken antenna. Sweet.

OK Lamarr, OK Bill,  since you both are so observant and obviously knowledgeable can you tell all of us -  does she have a limited slip differential ?

Since I am a automotive historian I suspect she definitely has overdrive. 🙃

ED R. you indeed are a true car nut and Buick guy, great observations about the modifications etc on the Buick and not one word about the chassis on the lady parked next to the Buick. 🧐

I think it's a modified chassis.  Extra length rear control arms and new poly bushings, but like Henry's  Model T -

"The intake is too close to the exhaust."

Yep, it's a 40 (turn signal housing) and based on the trunk view, I'd guess it is either a Super of Roadmaster.  That loosely held conclusion is based on the rounded trunk of the C-body versus the more squared off version for the A-body.  Note the tip-away center bumper guard.

Likely, from the license plate, it is Union County, New Jersey, where I grew up in the '40s and '50s.

I recall Dad's '42 Chevy had plate # U/K 44L

The black plate was later replaced by the Straw-colored background with 3 black letters - 3 black numbers-

especially interesting because at the time, my career was in Electronic Data Processing (EDP) - (Information Systems Management),

and both cars at that time received plates starting with EDP

Always on the look out for '40 Buicks.  "anybody got a match?"

If I'm not mistaken, the young lady is actress Lauren Bacall,

wife of Humphrey Bogart.

Name the movie containing that line.

I think it was either "To Have and Have Not" (1944) or "The Big Sleep" (1946).  I'm leaning toward the 1st one...1944.

We have a match, both for the actress and the quote.

"You know how to whistle don't you Steve? Just put your lips together and blow..."

Great movie, but in my opinion the "Resistance" fighter's wife is hotter.
