Dave@Moon Posted March 2, 2009 Share Posted March 2, 2009 The first (1954) generation Metropolitan had a BMC Series-A engine. That transmission in a Met can be identified by a number marked on the casing beginning with "NK1". That engine was quickly replaced with a BMC Series-B engine, as early as 1955 I believe.
