Reo M
The factory literature specifies that each car came with a tool box. I suspect that it was mounted on the passenger side running board. Can anyone provide any information about the size and style of the tool box as well as where it was located? Thanks in advance James
Richard Lichtfel
The early Peerless had running board tool boxes until 1914. The model 56 came out in Nov. 1915 and was the 1916 Peerless V-8. These did not have a tool box but a tool roll that fit under the passenger seat. It included: 4 open end wrenches, 1 hammer,2 screw drivers, 1 monkey wrench,1 combination pliers,1 bicycle wrench, 1 coal chisel, 1 cotter pin tool,1 valve plunger adjusting tool,1 file and handle, 1 spark plug and valve chamber wrench, 1 single open end wrench. There was also a canvas bag containing fuses, hose clamps, nuts and washers, cotter pins, valve stem and door bumpers. Also a jack, hub cap tool, valve lifter, tire repair kit, tire wrench, trouble light, wheel puller, oil can, tire pump hose, rim tool, and 3 oz. ground glass. This all fit under the passenger and drivers seat. All the instruction books pertaining to the care of the Peerless car is kept in the front door pocket compartment.I hope this will answer your question.
