Helter skelter ECM?

Jumped into the car this morning, cranked it up and noticed the climate control display dancing all out of joint like Elaine Bennis. I mean weird configurations changing constantly. Things went to normal after about 15 seconds or so of smooth, nothing out of the ordinary idling. A sign of things to come? By the way, I had the climate control already set to "heat" when I started up, if it makes any difference. I'm wondering if I need to diagnose the diagnoser?

I don't recall seeing the heat/ac unit do as your did.

I would first think it was the cold weather but not where you live. The electronics on these cars can be a problem, however the unit on your car is the same as a Riviera (1990-1993) so they can be found used.

Do a search and you will also find a process for taking them apart and cleaning the push-button contacts.

You may have another problem because when the contacts are dirty, the symptom is usually not being able to switch functions.
