Pete Phillips
Does anyone know where I can buy a rebuild kit for the water pump on my 1948 Roadmaster? The back of the pump bolts on, so it looks like it would not be too hard to rebuild, if I had a kit. It leaks badly, after 8-10 years of sitting unused. Any leads appreciated.Pete Phillips, BCA #7338Sherman, Texas
Ben Bruce aka First Born
Pete, if you locate a kit I would appreciate knowing. CARS Inc has the rebuilt pump. But do not list a kit. I wanted to rebuild mine. Good luck. Ben
imported_buick5563
Pete,Send it down the road to Terrill Machine. They're relatively inpensive. They may have a kit, too.
Guest Pushrod
Check with the Flying Dutchman in Selma, Oregon, he did a good job on my 42 pump. Doug Mumaw
JoelsBuicks
Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that these water pumps were the same for all models from 41 to 53 and were the same on big series 36 to 40. I see rebuild kits on ebay frequently for these pumps. Bob's has these rebuilt for $105. One of these days I'm gonna buy an ebay rebuild kit and find out for myself. Ben Bruce aka First Born
Pete, do you still need the water pump? I just had mine rebuilt in Marshfield MO. Cost $57.00. I will look up the phone # and post it if you needd. Do you have O`Reileys Auto parts there. This place will work through them. Ben
