imported_Phil Knapp
California used to purge unrenewed license plates after 7 years, so there may not be any record of these. It's still worth a try though. The Auto Club used to be a LOT better place to search than DMV.Several years ago (when we lived in California) I bought a 1967 Mustang GTA fastback with old original black California plates which had expired. DMV refused to renew them because their records had been purged. I ended up restoring that car and we drove it to Texas in 1992. (BTW, it's for sale now. Take a look at: http://community.webshots.com/album/563066354jGSyci )Good Luck!
