mystery cars

Guess at the first car might be Steyr or Benz. It is a very long time since I saw either close up. One key item is the bent radiator badge. Some cars with a sharp V-radiator had an emblem on both faces, such as Mercedes three pointed star, the sporting '20s Tipo 510S FIAT, and some of the big pre-WW1 KM Isotta Fraschini.

Hi,

Due to squared off top to honeycomb of the rad, rather than the curved of multianguar of many other makes, and the central big white-ish badge, am relatively sure the top car is a cca 1924 Typ V Steyr made in Steyr, Austria. Steyr initially made rifles and subsequently continued making munitions. The badge is a stylised target. Defeat in WW1 meant forced diversification and going into cars. They used Hans Ledwinka (of Tatra fame) to design this range of cars. Steyr later became Steyr Daimler Puch. Still making wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles today.

Hi Rosso,

As you have the answers, it would be nice to know what the last car was. Seems to be a 'Germanic' style body with an advanced style radiator cowl, electric lights with bulkhead side-lamps, but no front brakes. Right hand drive. A decent quality blow-up of the radiator mascot would probably reveal all. A Horch but not a Horch!
