Guest SwiftBuicks Posted December 9, 2008 Share Posted December 9, 2008 Hi fellas. I inherited a twenty year old Riviera and can't seem to turn the security system light off. It shines red, although I am doing everything that the manual recommends to turn it off. I suspect that the kill switch is activated (although there's no blowing of the horn, lights flashing, etc. when I open the door). I also found a little activator that looks like a wireless door lock in the collection of junk which came with the car that is marked M.A.T. I put a new battery in it but it doesn't effect the car at all. Anyone know what it is? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The keyless remote I have which I thought might be the correct one does not effect any change in the car. It has two buttons on it. I thought perhaps it might be coded. A new battery in it didn't help. The dash goes on when the key is turned to ACC. I hired a guy to get it started. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
