jimtash
Does anyone know where I can locate a horn relay for a '63? Thanks.
tim63riv
Jim,CARS in New Jersey has them, and they show up on ebay all the time. Not a rare part, should be an easy score!Tim
Guest DLT
What are the symptoms? Mine was not sounding the horn but I could hear the relay moving when the horn was depressed. I opened the unit and cleaned the contacts and it works great now. If the relay clicks but no horn, might be a real easy fix. Unbend a tab or two, pop the cover and use emory cloth to clean the contacts closest to the front of the car.Total cost is a dollar or so for a sheet of emory cloth from the hardware store. jimtash
I don't hear anything clicking, just silence. I think I shorted it out when I disconnected the positive battery cable. I have my Malory ignition power supply hooked up at the junction and there seems to be a little bit of current left in it after shut down. Anyway the positive terminal hit metal and a few sparks flew from it. Nothing major but I think it did something to the relay. Thanks for the tip though. Thanks Tim as well.
