this is directed at, i guess, paint and body people but any input welcomed! wink.gif" border="0 as my '64 le sabre resto is nearing completion and is wearing a lovely fresh coat of paint, what are your thoughts on putting on a good quality car cover i.e. how long should i wait so as not to suffer any problems due to condensation/damp conditions etc as our winters can be a bit MAD and the car has to live outdoors!!!...THANKS WARDY.. grin.gif" border="0grin.gif" border="0

wardy ~ I once had a custom car cover made of awning material with a soft nap inner surface. Expensive! shocked.gif" border="0 But, it never hurt the surface and withstood all kinds of weather, and best of all it breathed. However I can give no advice on how long you should wait before putting something like that over a fresh paint job. ~ hvs

Wardy,
If you want to REALLY protect your car from cold harsh winters take a look at
http://www.carcapsule.com
They make capsules that keep you car dry and protected. This is the only type of cover I would think of.
BTW to answer your question, you should always wait about a month for the paint to harden and fully dry.
Now If I could spell and / or type, I wouldn't have to edit my posts.
[ 09-10-2001: Message edited by: Bill Stoneberg ]
