Guest STEVE1103
Just had a clutch replaced in a 39 Buick, seems to grab very low, has about 2 in free play, should I add or reduce the free play to make it grab a little highter?
hwellens
Did you replace the pressure plate? If so, that could be the problem. Some of them have to be set up for the specific car.
Guest rbl2
1" of free play is all you need. Try that before investing money or a lot of time.It might also be that you simply need to drive the car for awhile. Kinda break the clutch in. Over the years I have concluded that cars have individual personalities and characters, much like people. Two cars, same make and model coming off the same assemble line, one right behind the other, can behave differently. Just my .
