I recently restored the ignition switch on my car, and painted the assembly black. Inscribed in the metal housing are the words "on" "off", etc., which were originally backfilled in white. What do I use to restore the lettering in white, without messing up the paint job?

Hi again,

I discovered an alternate method to fill in the lettering on my ignition switch. I used an acrylic artist color, titanium white. Squeezed it out of the tube into the depression, and went over the lettering with a tongue depressor, then wiped off the excess with a paper towel. I'll use an acrylic spray to seal it.

I am very happy with the results.

Thanks again for your help.

There's also a product called Paint Sticks. They are like crayons but they are made out of ultra thick, almost solid, oil paint. It's easy to just rub the paint into the letters and wipe off the excess. Google "Shiva paint stick" for details............Bob
