Are they available for a 63 Riv or should I just get the seal kit?

Take the next step and get a box from a later model. They are a bolt in and have the quick ratio gears in them.

What year range should I stick with? Do I need to worry about the pump?

I went with Lares Corp. The first box seemed to have a problem in that it didn't seem to have any power in the power steering. The pump was replaced at the same time and we thought we got a bad one. Replaced the new pump with another new pump and there was no change. Bled the system and couldn't get it to work.

Talked to Lares, they were very good to deal with, but I had to pony up the cost for another one until I could send the defective one back.

It came and I had it installed. Bled the system and it works great, except the case is cracked and it leaks.

I haven't got the credit back for the first one and they want me to buy a 3rd steering gear!

So far they have refused to reimburse the cost of any of the installations.
