Mika Jaakkola
Thanks Peter(and Ken too of course!)!! Now I'm much wiser again.. !! Yep, the car was left to a yard in SF,CA in early 80's, and some parts were sold from it. I received the car for myself early this year. What I did:changed- distributor points- fluids and oils- coil- spark plugs- carb- water pump- 1 freeze plug- cleaned up gas tank- rebuilt the brakesIt still needs some electrical work (and new exhaust system)and some test driving. But the 413 engine and tranny seems to work fine!! CarlLaFong
Is that Dieter Baloghs old car? I used to be an aquaintance of his and his brother, Howard. They had quite a collection of cars. They both began collecting very early, in high school. They tended to lean toward orphans and oddball foreign (to us Yanks) makes.Kaiser/Fraisers, Powell pickups, Panhards, Skodas, Anglia/Thames. Lots of cool stuff
Mika Jaakkola
Hi John. Wow, what a small world. No, this one is not from Dieter,BUT I BOUGHT MY RED 1957 IMPERIAL FROM HIM IN 2000 !!! How's he(they) doing at the moment? Still got those oddballs ? This white '64 Imperial came from near San Francisco. Kenyon Wills sold it for me, but it was located on Doc Bullocks Imperial-yard. JLG
As my son said when we drove my 50 Desoto (w/o windshield) for the 1st time... "the beast hath been released" A freind of mine had one of these back in the 70s...not sure whatever happened to it...or him for that matter. There is nothing quite like the feeling of resurecting a car or engine that hasn't run for years...Congrats
