Seeking Source for Sheet Metal

Could anyone suggest a source for auto body sheet metal, preferably in the southeast PA area? I need some 6'+ sections of 18 & 22 gauge steel to form body panels. I've called around with no luck, and the internet sources seem to me on the west coast.

Phil, I can order what you need from our local supplier. Takes 3 days or so and they deliver to us. 20 gauge is most common in auto bodies. We have 18, 20 and 22 here but we generally order sheets cut 4x4. If you try to order from a steel supplier you will be hit with a high minimum charge. Happy to order you a sheet or 2. Likely $50-75 or so for a 4x8 sheet cut to your size.

Theres a steel supply place in Wilkes Barre. They will sell in 4X8 sheets, no minimum. They stock most gauges and will also cut for a fee. If you're interested I'll get their name and Number..........Bob

I was directed to a good source for sheet metal as well as other metals (aluminum, stainless, etc). It is "Steel and Metal Liquidators", 407 Old Airport Road, New Castle, DE, 302-322-9960. They have a large, neatly-arranged warehouse filled with steel plate, bars, and all sorts of shapes. Some are full-size, others cut-offs. They sell the steel by the pound (.60 at the moment), and you just select what you want. They have 16, 18, 20, and 22-gauge steel. You might want to call first to be sure they have what you want, as they sell only surplus metal.
