Guest steveskyhawk
It is common knowlege that the Select 60 is the most rare of all the Reatta. It is debateably the most valuable with condition and milage the variables. I've been watching ebay, auto trader and hemmings and notice that there are quite a few nice cars for sale and I personally dont see them selling. The cheaper cars and parts cars are selling but the nice stuff seldom makes reserve.Questions: Have there been sales of nice cars at auction lately that you are aware of? I have seen the asking prices in Hemmings but has anything sold? There is a S60 on ebay and one in Hemmings. They may be the same car who knows. Everybody knows that there were 65 S60s produced but how many are left? The database is inconclusive with old data. Just wondering on a sunday afternoon. Barney Eaton
I have sent the seller on Ebay a note telling him his 25 car number is wrong. I can document 45 cars either by the owners name, mileage, or state. The remaining cars could be scrapped, but not likely. 20 of 65 is a 30% scrap rate and the average Reatta rate is around 15% (per R.L.Polk)Most likely the 20 unknown cars are in the hands of collectors or the original dealer and have never been titled or sold.....hince, no records. The Select Sixty is the rarest "documented" car. There are several 1991 convertibles that were made in far fewer number (by color) making them rarer from a numbers standpoint.Examples would be........(1991 convertibles)5 grey13 burgundy19 silver20 blue41 blackAll of these were produced in lower numbers than the 1990 ss60.Those numbers can be broken down even finer by adding the interior color and top color. One example, there was 1 grey convertible built with blue interior and black top (900349) that is a rare car.
