Guest weewilly
The headlights in my 90 reatta coupe are having a problem. When hitting the switch they go up and down quickly but do not stay up. Then I start over and hit switch and they work fine. The Question is? Is this a switch problem or something more? If it is a switch where is the best place to get either a new one or a good used one? or do i just need to remove switch and clean contacts? Help? Guest Drake
You said when you activated the switch the second time, the lights stayed up. I would start by removing the switch, and use some electronics spray cleaner & blow out with canned air. Had trouble with my 89 headlight switch. Did above, approx: 9 months ago, fine ever since.Forgot to mention, besides spraying the connection contacts, spray into the areas around the buttons themselves. When purchasing the cleaner, it will tell you on the label if it's safe for plastics.
Guest weewilly
Will try cleaning contacts but would still like to buy a new switch. Does anyone know were to get one?
Enoytsur
Start with Jim Finn when looking for Reatta parts (jfinn@cpinternet.com) but you may be wise to follow Drake's advice and pray it works. Most Headlight Switches for the 1990 Reatta are very expensive. There are a few on eBay (search for Reatta headlight Switch) right now (up to $401.00) ... make sure it is the one for your car ... physically look at the one on your Reatta because there are different ones. The inexpensive one on eBay is for a 1988.John in Sarasota
