Guest LarsG
Hello:I am starting to restore a 1936 Chevy coupe and will add a few tricks that will depart from originality. like 12 volt electrical system, a more modern Chevy engine (not sure yet: either a 235 or a 250), etc.I need some help or advice regarding a way to keep RPMs reasonable at highway speeds. Options would be a lower (numerically) ring & pinion set (if I can find one!), another rear end altogether (with quicker gears), some sort of overdive (but which!?) and so on.Any good ideas someone?(At least I am keeping the original wheels & tires, so there will be no change in that area.)Many thanks.Lars S. Guest 1hooligan
1953 chevrolet powerglide rear end, will work, assuming that you are using a stick. However, good luck finding one.
