Ron Pearson
My high compression '69 Catalina really dislikes the new improved gasoline. Are two headgaskets an answer to lower the compression? Ron
Guest Bluesky636
Sure, if you don't mind blowing head gaskets because of a poor seal between effectively six surfaces (head to gasket = 2, gasket to gasket = 2, and gasket to block = 2, for a total of six). You neglected to state what octane gas you are using. I am assuming you are talking about E10 gasoline (10% ethanol, 90% gasoline). My 64 Galaxie 390 (10.5:1 compression) runs great on 93 octane E10. Check your timing and carb adjustments. Now, if you are talking about E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) you will never get your car to run period without significant modifications to the entire fuel delivery system.
