Guest craig hewitt
Does it have to be bolted to the bracket for a ground?? I would like to test spares with just plugging in loose anybody ever try that.
Richard S
Given that the bracket to which you refer is the battery ground, and the bottom of the module is metal, I am pretty confident that grounding the base is necessary. Why couldn't you ground the module with the unit on the bench?

D-a-n-i-e-l
If not I am sure by tracking down the wire diagram you could figure out what the inputs and outputs are. It basically works the same as a distributor. A timed pulsating signal tells the module when to fire each cylinder. Also if I remeber right, each coil pack fires twice per engine cycle. Meaning that both coils per pack fire at the same time. (I may be wrong on this but I a pretty sure that is how my old chilton manual described the circuit)Good luck with it. It could come in ver handy.
Guest Durahansolo
I think whatever car my dad pulled the Delco coil pack from, had a ground wire going from the battery to the bottom of the base that the pack sits on, or from the ground box to it. So my dad put one of those from my battery to the base of mine when he installed it.
padgett
Big wire from negative battery terminal to bolt on block under the alternator is supposed to provide ignition ground. Some years ago I built a break out box just for ignition frustrations.
