Looks like Classic Buicks has discontinued...any Vancouver area Riv owners have any suggestions as to where I could get one? The Lordcos and such don't seen to go back that far.

Also, when replacing, I heard somewhere to "replace the pulley" at the same time...how necesary is it to do that, and, what goes wrong with the pulley currently in use?

Can one possibly refurbish one's pulley, so to speak?

Flowkooler shows part #1620 - Buick V8 6.6 liter (401) for $128 bucks. If you're willing to spend the money, this is the one.

Buy a new one; DO NOT get a rebuilt pump. The rebuilders are grinding down the impeller blades to make them "look good," but they're removing so much material that the impeller doesn't move the water, it just cavitates in a hole in the water.

ZW,

I have no real clue as to where I came up with that number. The only thing I can think of is that I took it from the slide show of pumps that goes across the top of their website. I was probably looking at one thing and took the number from another. Thanks for pointing this out to me and the others.

If you're ordering from FlowKoolier, I'd check twice on that part number. They show the same part number for the 225 V6 that was used in some Buick Specials and on the Jeeps that used that Buick engine.
