Bhigdog
I have an excellant pair I'd sell but I'm not sure what model they fit. Measure the size of your fender opening and I'll check against mine...........Bob
Guest oldslady liz
Thank you ..i will do that but i would still be a little unsure of a fit since it is on a curve etc.. is there anyway you can verify what olds style car they belong to?
Bhigdog
I'm pretty sure they are for a 55. They go into a rectangular opening and themselves have a tear drop opening. They look exactly like my 55 S-88 Holiday Coupe but are longer (fit a bigger opening). If the size was right and you wanted them your money would be returnable, no questions asked ........Bob
Guest oldslady liz
could you post a pic of them and the measurements .. thank you very much.. and what price are you asking?
Bhigdog
Icould send a pix but not here because I'm all but computer illiterate. Send me your EMail address and I'll send a pix. Price would be $100 for the pair, refundable. bhigdog1@ptd.net

Oldsfan
Bob/Liz,The skirts Bob has are for a 98, but they are for a 4-door post sedan, not a Holiday. The 98 post sedan is the only '55 Olds that used those longer rectangular skirt with the teardrop opening. They were standard equipment. All 88s except Holiday sedans used a shorter rectangular skirt with the teardrop opening. They were optional at extra cost.98 Holiday coupes, Starfire convertibles, and 98 and 88 Holiday sedans had teardrop shaped wheel openings. No factory skirts were available. Aftermarket skirts are teardrop shaped and fill the entire wheel opening.I have a set - just bought a Holiday coupe on Friday and they came with it. I put them on, but I don't think I care for them. I might be inclined to sell them. Need to think about it. They are steel.98 Holiday skirts need to fill these wheel openings: Bob's 98 post sedan skirts look like this: A 98 coupe with skirts installed:
Guest oldslady liz
If you don't care for them you know where i am.. i am glad you let me know that Bobs would not fit my 55 98 holiday coupe but sorry that they won't work.. if you do not mind me asking is any of these beauties yours? i have seen them on ebay..they are magnificient.. So nice to find someone else with the same car... hope your as happy as i am and congradulations on your purchase.. Thank you very much for all your information... Bhigdog
Thanks for that info. Too bad Liz can't use them, they are in excellant condition. I am a little confused about the term "Holiday". I thought my S-88 2 dr ht was a "Holiday Coupe". It has rectangular wheel openings and skirts with tear drop openings. I always thought the skirts were factory stock. Any thoughts?.........Bob
rocketraider
They are, Bob, for 88's. Ninety Eight Holiday Coupes, Convertibles and Holiday Sedans had the large teardrop openings like in the pic Oldsfan posted. Ninety Eight four-door sedans (with B-pillar) used the ones that you have.
